Construction Standards

The principals of Universal Scoreboards have been manufacturing scoreboards for different sports for over twenty years. The feedback we have received from users has been incorporated into the design of new scoreboards, the resulting products being a premier series of scoreboards, many still in use after twenty years.

MATERIALS

Aluminium is a light weight but durable metal that does not visibly rust, but in fact self anodises. The frame has been formed in a “U” such that it is unable to rack. The rivets at the top and bottom of the board are stainless steel for extra stability.

PVC Plastic has been used as it does not discolour nor rot in sunlight. The individual numbers have been dimpled to provide a gap between the sets of numbers to prevent abrasion of the lettering.

The SCREEN PRINTING uses the best inks available. Please note that some colours are more susceptible to fading than others, red being the worst.

WINDBARS
have been incorporated into some of the board to negate the ability of a strong wind to inadvertently “flip” over the numbers.

The RINGS are manufactured from stainless steel to provide a secure closure.

Scoreboards which have SPIKE LEGS have the legs riveted in one place only and use a spacer to stabilise the bottom. Holes for the legs must be pre-drilled into the mounting surface.

Universal Scoreboards have an association with a screen and digital printer who has set up jigs to accommodate our special PRINTING needs. The printing standard for any magnetic overlays is to a photographic standard, the cost to us being the same regardless if plain script or of an actual photograph. The plastic header board can be printed before it is bent, resulting in a significant cost saving. We encourage participating teams to develop a team logo.
