Universal Scorerboard Promotion

Most schools have a large number of sports fields and courts but few have a scoreboard for their playing fields and yet, the three most common questions at every game are:

  • Who’s winning?

  • What’s the score?

  • How much time’s left?

To answer these questions at an affordable price (free) Universal Scoreboard has developed a scoreboard for primary, intermediate and secondary schools, clubs and many second-level sports grounds. Any number of these scoreboards can be supplied to your school, free.

The cost is covered by (appropriate) advertising on the top portion of the scoreboard (as per our advert in the photograph) which Universal Scoreboards will sell in consultation with the school. Mutual assistance packages can also be negotiated.

These scoreboards are for any sport that has two halves – or four quarters – with a score up to 99.
They are light (less than 5kg), portable and durable (10 year life). They can be put out and brought in at the beginning and end of every match (or day of fixtures), carried in a car boot and easily stored.

What is appropriate advertising will vary from school to school. Obviously it would be inappropriate to have liquor or cigarette advertising or advertising that conflicts with existing advertising and sponsorship arrangements; or from companies and products the school doesn’t wish to be associated with. We are very conscious of these sensitivities and we will work closely with each school to select the advertising that is right for them.

By the same token, these scoreboards can provide new opportunities for existing sponsors and advertisers or for other businesses that want to support their local school but haven’t found an inexpensive opportunity for doing so.

Mutual assistance packages can include extending the “pay back” to existing sponsors enabling them to give further assistance or by sharing advertising revenue between Universal Scoreboards and the school, etc.

Costs vary for the different models and all scoreboards are available from stock except the count-down timer model which will be available later on this year.

While we will provide whatever kind of scoreboard the schools request, we don’t recommend the clock version for very young sport, as it is generally agreed that primary age children don’t need the pressure of playing against a clock. At secondary school, the reverse is true for both players and spectators.
